Friendlyhouseshares was founded in 1999 by Sunil Tailor, in his hometown of Leicester. Having previously shared accommodation with 3 other people, he knew the ins and outs of co-living, as well as the satisfaction of creating a practical, aesthetically pleasing, and homely small space.
The aim was to offer the market a higher calibre of house sharing, and somewhere that would appeal to people from all walks of life.
His personal experience provided him with the advantage of relating to young professionals and their accommodation needs, the importance of pleasant housemates being top of the list.
Also on the agenda was the eradication of the conventional magnolia theme. The team work hard to create homes with a more elegant, vintage style, opting for innovative design, over the generic, low budget set up on the existing house-share market. This goal to continuously push boundaries and not settle for simply ‘good enough’ has resulted in an ever improving business that ups the game for co-living in the UK.
